Our history

Smart Ice Italy is the brainchild of Cristian Mazza, who is now at the helm of Smartice SRL along with his sister Stefania Mazza, drawing on a 20-year experience at the company Mabinox Srl, established in 1967 by their father Cesare Mazza, to whom they owe their professionalism, passion, determination and other valuable lessons.

Smart Ice Italy has been producing custom-made refrigerated cabinets for more than 15 years: they are conceived, designed and developed in Italy, where a team of experts oversees every detail to deliver high-quality products that are sought after all over the world.

2008 - FOUNDATION

Smart Ice Italy is established in Bologna by Cesare Mazza along with his son Cristian and daughter Stefania, with the idea of offering custom refrigerated solutions.

2009 - THE BEGINNING

Smart Ice Italy starts manufacturing its first products and installing them across the country, predominantly in hotels and restaurants, by working closely with architects and interior designers, and even directly with end customers.

2011 - HOST MILANO

For the first time ever, Smart Ice Italy participates in HOST, the International Exhibition of the Hospitality Industry, in Milan.
This will be the first step towards implementing new projects both in Italy and abroad.

2020 - PRIVATE HOMES, YACHTS AND CRUISE SHIPS

The latest trend is the manufacture of custom refrigerated wine cellars for private homes, yachts and cruise ships.
Smart Ice Italy is able to seize this opportunity and implement a number of major projects: one of these is the Disney Wish, one of Walt Disney’s cruise ships.

2021 - NEW HEADQUARTERS

Thirteen years after its foundation, Smart Ice Italy takes another major step forward by opening new headquarters in Bologna with a showroom and offices.
We are extremely proud of this big investment, made after years of sacrifice, and are pleased with what we have achieved.

2023 - PRESENT AND FUTURE

Smart Ice Italy was established more than 15 years ago by the Mazza family, which still owns the company.
Our family stands out for its values, which are passed down from one generation to the next, and for its ongoing passion that makes it constantly look to the future by researching and developing new technologies and solutions.
Every day we are faced with new challenges and set ourselves new goals, which we strive to achieve through our efforts and dedication, because today is a gift and the future motivates us.
